The sad truth of life is that far too many of us put aside our dreams until one day we realize we’ve missed the chance to accomplish them. It usually takes a big slap in the face from reality for us to wake up and really go after what we want in life. Recently, Megan Sullivan of San Francisco felt that awakening and decided to take an inspiring whirlwind trip across the globe.
Over the span of one month, Megan Sullivan fell 50 feet while rock climbing, was hit by a car and diagnosed with skin cancer. “Two weeks later, I decided to see the 7 New Wonders of the World in just 13 days with a new outlook on life: to live more now,” she told Bored Panda. So she headed out on a non-stop journey with a man she had only met two weeks before. Together, they traveled to 12 countries on 15 flights travelling 28,211 total miles over just 13 days.
Here are some photos from Sullivan’s trip. Note: In each picture she’s counting the seven wonders on her fingers.
Day 1: Chichen Itza, Yucatán, Mexico
Day 2: Machu Picchu, Cuzco Region, Peru
Day 4: Cristo Redentor, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Day 6: The Colosseum, Rome, Italy
Day 8: Petra, Ma'an Governorate, Jordan
Day 11: Taj Mahal, Agra India
